Despite having much fewer systems and stations than the first game, each station in GoF2 has its own unique design (except for the Vossk ones) and allows trading.Unlike the previous GoF game, the player can freely explore the galaxy as soon as they find their way out of the Mido system.The game is the closest one can get to Elite on mobile.Keith agrees to help the research organization Deep Science in finding a way to vanquish the Voids once and for all. There, Keith learns that the Voids, a mysterious species of aliens with the technology of generation wormholes, has been causing much chaos and destruction across the galaxy by raiding various space stations with hit and run tactics. Gunant rewarded Keith by giving him Betty and helping him find a way to reach Terran controlled space. Keith eventually earned Gunant's respect after helping the ore trader take out a group of pirates that frequently raids the station. There Gunant gives Keith a battered old spaceship named Betty fitted with a mining laser and asked Keith to do a few favours for him with no ship of his own, Keith was forced to agree. An ore dealer named Gunant Breh finds Keith's crippled ship drifting in space and brings it to the Var Hastra mining station. The story starts with Keith.T.Maxwell, the protagonist of GoF3D, being shot 35 years into the future by a malfunctioning hyperdrive. It's the sequel to Galaxy on Fire 3D and second title in the Galaxy on Fire franchise.
