There's no indication of what that price might be just yet, but interested parties should keep an eye on Praey to the Gods' Steam page in the run up to its January 31st early access arrival. No Matter also notes that Praey to the Gods will likely remain in early access for between 6 and 12 months, and that it has no plans to increase the game's price once Version 1.0 arrives. However, the developer says it's moving into Steam Early Access as "we love making this game and would still like to add some additional content, polish, and optimization prior to a 1.0 release." Praey to the Gods has been in various stages of alpha and beta testing with Kickstarter backers for the last two years, and has now reached a point where the core is, according to No Matter, "feeling solid", and the content promised as part of crowdfunding is now complete. To that end, it's necessary to hunt for food, craft weapons and armour, even seek out shelter as day turns to night and the weather worsens. It's a lot more open, for starters, enabling players to tackle creatures as they choose, and, more crucially, exploration of the harsh landscape depends on players' ability to survival.

Praey for the Gods is openly inspired by Fumito Ueda's masterful Shadow of the Colossus - but seeks to build upon that game's sturdy frame.

PRAEY FOR THE GODS PLAYSTATION PS2
If that brings to mind a certain PS2 classic, then you'd be right. To restore balance and reclaim the land from the brink, you will be faced with questions that not even a God. Arriving with only the clothes on your back, you must survive the colossal dangers that you encounter. And that, it transpires, involves slaying the gargantuan creatures (or gods, if you will) that inhabit the mysterious world. In Praey for the Gods, you play a lone hero sent to the edge of a dying world to discover the mystery behind a never-ending winter. Praey for the Gods' beautiful, snow-blanketed landscape looks wonderfully melancholy, and provide a striking backdrop to the adventures of a young hero tasked with finding a way to end the perpetual winter. Not long after, it successfully managed to crowdfund $501,252 USD through Kickstarter, easily smashing its original $300,000 USD goal.Īnd really, it's not hard to see the appeal.

PS4 PS5 A mythic, action-adventure about the Hunter who sails to a cursed island with only a bow and an eagle companion to defeat the Godslayer who threatens to control the fate of the world. Praey for the Gods (which, once upon a time, didn't have the conspicuous 'a' in its name - until Bethesda's lawyers got on the case) was first unveiled back in 2016. Praey for the Gods is an action-adventure/survival game influenced by the likes of Shadow of the Colossus.
PRAEY FOR THE GODS PLAYSTATION UPGRADE
The PS4 > PS5 upgrade will be free.No Matter Studios has announced that its atmospheric, boss-focussed action-adventure, Praey for the Gods, will launch on Steam Early Access on January 31st. Praey For The Gods is still in Steam Early Access, but it’s also in development for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, coming in the first quarter of 2021. We’re still digging into the DualSense controller and will continue to tune it as we polish the game for our launch,” the devs wrote about the DualSense.

For a game like Praey for the Gods, it brings so many details of our world to life and makes interactions that much more compelling. It’s so satisfying and incredibly immersive. Feeling your feet crunch through deep snow, the tug of your sail cloth popping open as you leap into the air, or feeling the wind blow - all of these impacts are felt in your hands as you control your character. Feeling your bow draw back and the resistance match on the controller’s adaptive triggers is so visceral. We had played a couple of demos from Sony showing how immersive it could be. The new Sony console will offer a 60 FPS frame rate, the graphical settings will be set to the max, the shadows will be full, and the textures will be in a higher resolution. The three developers talked a bit more about Praey for the Gods on the PlayStation Blog, explaining the differences between the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation 5 versions. This is a game that got a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2016, then the Shadow of the Colossus-inspired indie title popped up on Steam in Early Access in early 2019, but now, No Matter Studios’ work is getting close to completion and the eventual release.
